SNAPE
In the morning it was trying to snow. We set off in a bitingly cold wind with Andrew, who took us to see our next place of interestingness. Snape Maltings in SNAPE
Local artist Laurence Edwards created The Creek Men in Butley, nearby. The three 8ft figures were then floated on a raft up the Alde to this bit of water where they now stand. www.laurenceedwardssculpture.com. They're very imposing and quite arresting: fashioned out of bits of rubbish stuck to cast statues.
Extra points here if you manage to park near the shops. If The 'man-who-appears-to-have-made-a job-up-for-himself' is there...then tell him you have come to use the shops and then he may not send you round the block to park. Sign of the times eh?... 'here to see the free art, sonny? would you kindly park in the next village' .... ' are you shopping, sir? would you like to pull in here- just on top of my toes, thank you, sir. please thank you'.
The Assistants bid Andrew a fond farewell and leave him to return home to make his game pie for Christmas (venison, grouse, pheasant, and partridge).
