THE WRONG FOREST
Next stop was Druids Temple up the road in Ilton. It's quite hard to find. We should have had faith in Bee's hand drawn map- instead we drove up and down the same roads a number of times. We were directed, at one particularly enraging point by a couple of very worthy, know-it-all walkers- (should that have an 'n' in it?) who suggested we get sat-nav. We thanked them kindly and spat venom about them and sat-nav. until we found our way back to the very dark scary woods we'd zipped past a few times already.

We wrapped up and set off to find Druid's temple, another Victorian Folly- in a pine forest this time. The wood was the darkest either of us had ever seen and conjured up remembrances of every scary horror movie we'd ever watched.  Our friend Chicky, who was the star of this visit, said at this point 'Where are we actually going Ladies?' to which we sweetly murmured 'don't worry chicky, we are going somewhere very nice indeed'
For a Point scorer in the scary wood- make a scary movie film in the wood.

We trudged around for quite a while, over soft , mossiness, surrounded by pine trees with sunlight dappling us, and with us gradually getting a little less spooked as we played a couple of whatless red riding hoods. Our city-ways got the best of us before very long and we phoned Bee who confirmed we were in the wrong mossy pine forest- mobile phones are just so useful aren't they?

Back in the van, after some brave video making, and to the real Druids Temple. The Beatles 'Long and winding road' took us there and felt like an apt choice of song...."I've seen this road before" etc.....about 7 times by now by our calculations.(http://www.clarke-rowland.freeserve.co.uk/dcstn.htm
